Texas vs. Baylor College football picks: The No. 2 ranked Texas Longhorns will travel a few miles up I-35 to Waco, Texas to take on the unranked Baylor Bears in a BIG 12 South battle at Floyd Casey Stadium. Fans will see an early 12:10 pm kickoff in this FSN televised game.
College football picks oddsmakers list the Longhorns as 23 1/2 chalk favorites with a 52 1/2 total. Bears backers are getting +1100 odds as a home underdog while Texas is giving -2000 odds.
The Bears (4-5, 1-4) snapped a four-game losing streak with a 40-32 upset at Missouri last Saturday. Baylor is 2-3 at home this season and has lost its last two games in Waco. The Bears covered the 15-point spread, while the final score played OVER the day’s posted total of 45.
The Longhorns (9-0, 5-0) are undefeated and ranked second nationally in both the USA Today Coaches’ and Associated Press top 25 polls. Texas is coming off a 35-3 win over Central Florida Saturday in Austin and is 9-0 for the first time since the 2005 season when it won the BCS championship. Colt McCoy led Texas with three touchdown passes versus the Knights.
The Longhorns did not cover the large 35.5-point spread, while the final score played UNDER the day’s posted total of 48.
College Football Picks: The Longhorns can hardly afford to overlook the improving Bears who are currently 4-5 and a team that needs wins to get bowl qualified. This game is overlined favoring the visiting Longhorns. Take the points and play the Bears in this one.

Help answer the question about football picks
In setting up the Yahoo Pro Football Pick 'Em, I am not able to see my opposing team members picks. Why not?I'm the commissioner of my league's Yahoo Pro Football Pick 'Em. The first week is deadline is drawing to a close for my friends to all submit their picks for tonight's game. The interface shows me that everyone has made their selections and this week's picks, but for some reason, I am not able to see who they have all selected. Is this setup in this fashion on purpose? I'd hoped everyone would be able to see eachother's picks and not just their results. It would be more fun that way. Does anyone have any ideas? I've read through all of the options and help menus and can't decide if I'd made a wrong selection somewhere. My hope is to be able to see other people's (teams) picks. We have the default Private group, but I don't believe that makes a huge difference — only hides it from non-members. Any insight anyone has will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

yeah um.., i think you should make a vid on just how much saints got beat lol
How About Them Cowboys!!!
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! What a game though, what a season. Now I can openly cheer for the Saints Heather and Jeff. To make up for the GATOR win.
Here's a quick list at some good first and second round picks for each position. You should not be able to get all of these top players in your draft, so look for the value picks I leave here to make your team one of the better ones in your league.
The most important thing I can tell you is to load up on running backs. It's the easiest way to win!
QB: I am not taking Peyton Manning this year. With the loss of Edgerrin James, he will be throwing against better coverages this year. Thus, I will take a QB no higher than the 3rd round, so here's my list of QB's that might be avaliable then.
Trent Green
Eli Manning
Jake Delhomme
Drew Brees
Kurt Warner
RB:
High Picks:
Larry Johnson
Ladanian Tomlinson
Shaun Alexander
Clinton Portis
Lower Picks:
Kevin Jones
Julius Jones
Dominick Davis
Reuben Droughns
Tiki Barber
WR:
High Picks:
Chad Johnson
Steve Smith
Tory Holt
Hines Ward (gets a lot of TD's)
Lower Picks:
Roy Williams
Joe Horn
Javon Walker
Keyshawn Johnson (I think he'll get the TD's and Steve Smith will get the yards)
Terrel Owens (should have an amazing year)
Randy Moss
TE:
Antonio Gates
Jeremy Shockey
Alge Crumpler
Todd Heap
Vernon Davis
K:
Vanderjact
Vinatieri
Rackers
DEF:
Carolina
Atlanta
NYG
Baltimore

Nail in the coffin, Titans 24 Dolphins 6
1.) LadainianTomlinson- It's hard to argue against a RB with the kind of talent, field awareness, speed, power, and offensive line that Tomlinson has. He led the league in total TD's last year and broke the record for most combined TD's ever with 33. He had 2,323 total yds last season and although he most likely won't reproduce those number this year, his numbers will still be top notch in the league. Even if he scored 10 fewer TDs he still would have had 4 more than Larry Johnson who came in second for total combined TD's with 19. Tomlinson is THE man in the NFL and should go first in your fantasy draft…period.
2.)Steven Jackson- Ok, he led the league in total yards last season with 2,334, not to mention his O-line improves this year with the return of the injured Orlando Pace, making him a larger threat than last year. He probably has the second best supporting offense with a HUGE passing threat in Holt, Bruce, Bennett, McMicheal and Bulger at the helm. This will take even more focus off of the running game making defenses focus on the pass and open the lanes for Jackson to run wild this season. If you're in a Points Per Reception league, Jacksons value increases even further since he had 90 receptions with 806 receiving yards last season. He is the only RB with the potential to possibly outdo Tomlinson this season, although that will not be easy to do.
3.) Joeseph Addai- I know not many people will agree with my #3 pick but keep an open mind. Addai was the only rookie last year to rush for over 1,000 yds last season with 1,081. He won't be sharing carries like last year with D. Rhodes since he made his move to Oakland. Addai is going to see an increase in looks and touches this season giving him more opportunities for yarage and TD's. He has THE best supporting cast on offense that makes the passing game an unequaled threat, allowing the running game to open up for Addai to put up solid numbers, and trust me…he will. Not to mention he faces three HORRIBLE run defenses during the fantasy playoffs and Super Bowl when he squares off against Oakland, Houston, and Tennessee. The bottom line is that he has the talent combined with the support to be a top 3 pick.
4.) Frank Gore- He's a monster and showed last year how productive he can be in a starting roll. He hasnt had the years of wear and tear that most of the other top RB's have, so he's fresh and will see a bulk of the action this year. He's also a viable receiving threat, racking up 485 receiving yards last season. His O-line does an excellent job at run blocking and returns intact this season. He had 1,695 rushing yards last season, running over 100 yards in 9 of the games he played in. Also he's coming into the season with an overall improved passing threat, taking ALOT of focus off of him and the running game.
5.) Rudi Johnson- He IS Mr. Consistancy, scoring 12 TD's and topping 1,300 yards in each of his last three seasons. He's going to get at least 20 to 25 carries a game and is a lock for ANY goalline opportunities. He also has a great supporting offensive cast that can take focus off of the running game. He is going up against highly unproductive run defenses this season facing Cleveland twice, and the Jets, Titans, Buffalo, and St. Louis once each, giving him more chances to outdo most other RB's in the league.
Why I didn't rank these guys in the top 5….
Larry Johnson- with 400+ carries, he's had more punishment last season than any other RB, and I think it will carry over into this season, not to mention Herm Edwards has already stated that he will NOT see as much of the workload this season, further reducing his chances for yards and TD's. He has NO passing threat to take pressure off of him and the running game, he's on a team with average receivers (at best) and a team going through a starting QB struggle. KC is going to see alot more 8 man rushes from defenses and blitz packages on the QB, taking away from the effectiveness of the running game. Also, he's currently unhappy with his contract. He may not even be on KC by the start of the season, which means he will have little time to adapt to a new system.
Shaun Alexander and Brian Westrook- Both guys are solid RB's, but they run a huge injury risk. Although Westbrook lasted all season last year, it was his first in years that he didn't break down at some point. I expect he will since he will have to repeat his workload this season for Philly. Alexander is a concern because even before his injury last year, he wasn't producing good numbers due to the loss of Left Guard Steve Hutchinson, showing how important his role was in Alexanders numbers 2 years ago. Seattle has a diminishing passing game and will not be able to keep defenses off of the running game.
Willie Parker- I have alot of faith that he will be a great fantasy RB this year, but he isnt in the top 5 for a couple of reasons. With the loss of Cower, Pittsburgh has replaced him with a coach (Mike Tomlin) that believes more in the passing game and has already restructured the offense with alot more 4 receiver sets. It is also rumored that Parker may even share his carries with Najeh Davenport, and will most likely lose some of his goalline carries to him.
Lastly, none of my top 5 picks are sharing carries like Maurice Jones-Drew or Reggie Bush will this season, and I think that is going to be a huge factor this year for alot of RB's after the first 6 to 8 guys taken in the draft. I didn't take a top QB or WR in the top 5 because getting good solid RB's in the first two rounds is more important because the vast difference in numbers between the higher and lower class RB's than it is for QB's and WR's. Hope this answer helps you, good luck this season!!!
